TRAIL Doctoral School “Generalization in deep reinforcement learning and the role of representation learning for sequential decision-making tasks”

Abstract

This presentation will start with an introduction to the field of deep reinforcement learning and the different families of algorithms that are used. The concept of generalization in that context will then be explained along with the different elements that can be used to improve generalization. A few applications will be discussed. Finally, the role of representation learning for improved generalization and interpretability will also be discussed.
